Little Outdoor Giants’ mission is to create unique, curated, and authentic motion projects that are hinged on a desire to live an aesthetic life and tell beautifully stylized stories. We work with both traditional cast talent as well as shooting with real people in real situations. We would love to help tell the story of Farm & Wilderness Summer Camps and the enjoyment of an unplugged summer experience. We have the production experience and the creativity to help tell these stories. Having years of experience shooting for brands like LLBean and Eddie Bauer, among others, we know what our clients want and need in this competitive environment, and we have the production experience to make it all happen smoothly, covid-safely, on budget, all the while having a blast for everyone involved.

Thank you for considering us for Farm & Wilderness’s marketing needs. We hope you enjoy this work and look forward to making magic together.

About LOG

How We Do:

Dom & Jarrod are both photographer / directors. This means we both shoot stills, we both shoot motion, we both direct and on some productions, we do this all at the same time. We pride ourselves on being able to double down on the same skillset, providing more content in less time for our clients than a typical production.

Things we love:

  • Believable lifestyle moments, made authentically (great storytelling)

  • Big, beautiful, natural looking light

  • Nature and the outdoors and stories based outdoors (it’s in our name!)

  • Being creative with art direction (LOG works well with teams)

  • Happy clients! (see what our past clients have said about working with us)

Farm & Wilderness

To entice new viewers to come seek what Farm & Wilderness offers, we want to tell the universal story of the magic of an unplugged childhood, focusing on three distinct core values of Farm & Wilderness.

  • Honoring the Power of Youth

  • Experiencing Life in the Wilderness

  • Cultivating Community

We will achieve this by creating three distinct stories, presented as short 15-30 second stand-alone videos, and one combined 60 second video that interweaves these three stories. Each story will be shot intimately, close-up, focusing on the textures and the ethereal feeling of being a kid. We will highlight and bring forth the magic of the timelessness of youth, the relaxed feeling of being unplugged in nature and totally immersed in your surroundings, in what you’re doing in the moment, and the wonderment of discovery of the natural world, and of being with others who unspokenly share your values.

Our Three Stories

Our scenes are simple and uncluttered. We see children in nature, interacting and encouraging each other. The viewer will walk away with an excitement and a deep feeling of longing, or remembrance (for us adults atleast) of the simple joy of being alive and of shared discovery in nature.

NATURE EXPLORATION SCENE

  • Two kids are chasing each other through the forest playing tag

  • Cut to the kids are laying in dirt/grass/moss looking up at the trees

  • They're examining pine cones and telling stories

  • Cut to them balancing along a rock wall, exploring

  • Cut to them sitting on that rock wall examining a butterfly/praying mantis

  • Cut to the two of them ready to start a race to a tree.

  • Cut to them running through a field of wildflowers, hay/dry grass

  • One trips, scrapes his knee, the other helps him up.

  • They carry on, together.

CANOE SCENE

  • 2x canoes

  • 4x kids

  • we see a couple kids rope swing off into the water

  • we cut to a clearly afraid boy

  • he's standing on a log, his toes dangling over, twitching

  • he's nervous, shy, unable to take the final step

  • a girl comes up and whispers in his ear

  • they lock eyes as she steps back and smiles at him.

  • he takes a final resolute breath, closes his eyes and steps off.

  • a pulled back shot of the shoreline and trees,

  • we audibly hear a hoot/holler

  • he comes out of the trees and releases

  • we see him come up from the water joyous and proud

  • we see the other campers smiling together in shared joy

FIRE SCENE

  • a single child walking through the forest, seeking out dead tree’s, tinder, and kindling material

  • child is delicately trying to construct a fire that is the most perfect teepee

  • it's their first fire he's ever built and he's hoping it works

  • he's delicately shaving off dry wood for tinder

  • he's placing dried pinecones and birch bark perfectly and hoping the air flow is just right

  • he finally aims to light it with his flint and blows on some embers

  • we see a reveal of him around a roaring fire at dusk with other kids hooting and howling together in joy

Inspiration Motion Pieces

We love the simple intimacy of this motion piece. Our goal for Farm & Wilderness is to craft our three stories as simply and intimately as this. By working to create authentic scenes, direct our talent and shoot at the most optimal times of the day for each story, we’ll be able to let the voice-over tell the story, while our visuals support the message.

We love the shots of nature, the tree’s the grasses, the water, and the marriage of people in nature and moving through nature from this motion piece. Our take-away from this is to share the same amount of specialness of place, to capture our kids swimming, boating, walking, and laying in the forest and fields that are non-descript, yet so important to the story.

LOG Client Motion Work Examples

Our Way of the Wabanaki video is highlighting a truly special experience of camping with the Penobscots on their ancestral land, learning about their culture, history, crafts and storytelling, sharing this with their camp guests.

One of our more commercial anthems. We like this because it showcases us working with real-people, and intertwining many short stories together with texture, with visuals, and with a well-crafted voice-over script to deliver a final presentation that makes the viewer feel something powerful.

We’ve been lucky enough to travel on many guided canoe trips in Maine with Mahoosuc Guides. This is a recap of a client-guided trip through Umbagog Lake Wilderness in Western Maine.

We shot this over the course of 5 days for a Maine based non-profit showcasing the many diverse voices that are sharing the values of protecting this special resource.

What past clients have said about working with us…

Right from the initial call, it was clear that Dom and Jarrod had invested themselves in our project—digging into the details and potential. Their enthusiastic energy never let up. Navigating the specifics and twists-and-turns of our shoot was always positive, constructive, a great buzz.

In the ad biz, it’s an honor to collaborate with truly talented people—that’s when the magic happens. That collaborative spirit is inherent in Dom and Jarrod as a team. These days, as we tend to work through all sorts of technology, a terrific personal collaboration means more than ever. LOG on.

“Let’s start with the name—Little Outdoor Giants. Talk about the perfect name for this dynamic duo! From the amoment I met them, we connected on a creative level that is hard to come by. Not only are these two photography masters they are by far two of the nicest guys in the industry that I have had the privilege of working with.

Being an outdoor brand, it is essential to find photographers who genuinely embrace the outdoors. The Little Outdoor Giants are those guys. They seamlessly capture authentic and beautiful outdoor moments we are always striving for at L.L.Bean. They are collaborative, creative, energetic, passionate, and all-around incredible human beings.”
