OVERVIEW
Over the course of (2) shoot days we capture video & audio showcasing the essence of how Friends of Baxter contributes to the community through its’ Youth Programs, Community Partners and it's dedicated relationship with Baxter State Park. Within this we will weave two congruent stories - that of Friends of Baxter as an organization, and that of Baxter State Park itself.

LIGHTING
Utilize sunrises & sunsets to capture the best light
For outdoor projects such as this, time-of-day is really important. For this project, we will work “split-days”. This method has us up early shooting in the soft light of morning and prioritizing shots to make use of that light. We do the same for the evening,, keeping track of sunsets and utilizing that time to capture those shots which will benefit most and provide the best impact. The middle of the day is reserved for travel, audio capture, interviews where we can control the environment and lighting, and some downtime.
INTERVIEWS
Capture interviews with real people for audio + possible video
Our interviews will be predominantly for audio capture. With a plan to use the interviews as Voice Over, we’ll schedule them more middle of the day and find an environment where we can put our subject in some nice light and/or modify the light accordingly. A quiet environment is most important for good sound, and if necessary interviews can be done in automobiles. We’ll work with that audio in post, taking highlights from our subjects and using them in a way to tell our story. Additionally, we can work together on a script. This will be helpful for driving dialogue in interviews and can even be read in addition to the interviews.
CINEMATOGRAPHY
Weaving together people & the landscape
Using our “split-day” strategy, we show the park and all its’ wonder but always look to incorporate a human element. Ultimately it’s the preservation of the land for our continued use that is the backbone of this story, so let’s work to incorporate that relationship where possible. It also helps to create a sense of scale for wider shots. By integrating this strategy into showcasing some of the parks finest features - the boreal forest, ponds, rivers, hiking trails, etc. - we can always bring it back to the stewards of the land by including human elements where possible.

“Where to even begin? These guys have a true passion for their work. When they’re on your project, they’re ALL IN!
Upfront, they take the time to understand your brand and what you’re trying to accomplish. They brainstorm with you. To say they’re collaborative is an understatement.
They take tech and organization seriously. Whether you’re standing on a mountaintop, chilling next to a campfire, or setting up in studio; the light’s gonna be beautiful.
Once you’re shooting, LOG brings your ideas to life. The guys work seamlessly together. But even better, the whole crew feels like family — just having fun and taking pictures. The emotion is real, so your images are authentic, believable, and connect with your audience. At the end of the day, I’m always exhausted because it was so much fun and I literally can’t stop smiling. Post shoot, the guys take the time to follow up. Are you happy? Is there anything we could have done better? How can we make your post production process easier? You might even get a handwritten postcard.
Bottom line, they really care, and that means everything.”
Thanks for taking a look!
Cheers-
